Climate Denial.

like i said,

2004 is where RR gets his figures from.
http://www.raeng.org.uk/news/publications/list/reports/Cost_Generation_Commentary.pdf

you can see there is a rather a lot of dishonesty in them.

from page 3

Gas-fired CCGT 2.2
Nuclear fission plant 2.3 * this is the same as RR's figure.
Coal-fired pulverised-fuel (PF) steam plant 2.5
Coal-fired circulating fluidized bed (CFB) steam plant 2.6
Coal-fired integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) 3.

but his wind power cost claims are a total fiction.
>>>>>>
On-shore Wind 5 to 7
Off-shore wind 15 to 21
<<<<<<<

the pdf says,
Onshore wind farm 3.7 5.4
Offshore wind farm 5.5 7.2

on page 4, which is significantly different from his figures.

He also deliberately omits that the variation in the figure is related to an arbitrary estimate for how much stand by power generation is required.

Until wind power makes up 20% of supply, we don't actually have to worry about spare capacity. And even then can just use variable pricing and other solutions to deal with variability.
